We did this unit with a K, prek and toddler.

Music:
*Can You Hear It? by William Lach - incredible combination of art with music. Accompanying music cd. (Plan to add this to our home collection.)
*Zin,Zin,Zin, A Violin - lyrical book introducing instruments of the orchestra. Also doubles as a counting book for the prek/toddler.

Ah Music! by Aliki
This book was great for all ages. We read it to ages 9 and 11 and learned so much. It is filled with History of music, instruments and composers. It also talks about culture and music. There is so much information in just this one book I would like to purchase it. We check out many from the library but this was the most well rounded you could do a unit study with just this book! It had engaging illustrations that kept us enjoying it, it almost reminds me of an Usborne book with many juicy tidbits scattered through the pages.A++

We just started this unit, but we thought we'd use some Richard Scarry books for our 5 year old (many of the stories result in hilarious mishaps when one character or another are not paying attention to what they're doing or where they're going).
