Overall: Earth Day by Trudi Strain Trueit (good) David Suzuki biography - Remarkable Canadians Series (pretty good) Making a difference - respecting our world by Sue Barraclough (great) Timon & Pumbaa safety smart goes green DVD w/discussion questions & worksheets in extra features (great)
Animals/food chain: Snap by Mick Manning (good - fun)
Soil: Dirt by Steve Tomecek (good) All about soil DVD - Earth Science for children (good DVD with review questions in extra features)
Trees: The Busy Tree by Jennifer Ward (good) A tree is nice by Janice May Udry (good) Erosion DVD - Bill Nye series seemed ok but too advanced for my kids
Trees/air: Let's explore air by Gareth Stevens (good) Air is all around you by Franklyn Branley (great)
Water: Saving water by Sharon Dalgleish (Good) Magic School bus at the waterworks (how water gets to the tap) (Great) Stuff happens with Bill Nye DVD - chapters 1,2,6 - we skipped toothpaste, lipstick & saving cream chapters)(good)
Garbage/recycling: Garbage trucks at work by DR Addison (good for preschool level) Garbage by Robert Maas (good) Making a Difference series: - Reusing Things - Recycling materials (both by Sue Barraclough) - great We are extremely very good recyclers by Lauren Child (good -f un) Michael Recycle by Ellie Bethel (great fun) Garbage helps our garden grow by Linda Glaser (good) Canada Recycles by Peter Cook and Laura Suzuki (good, but a bit too detailed for my kids - maybe good for grade 3-6?)
